Edward Elgar Salut d' Amour Piano for 4 Hands?

Hello,

I'm here to ask why is it transcribed for 4 hands and how is this possible?
Also why is the treble section and bass section separated into two parts?

Thanks,

Ben

P.S. If anyone has played this and can tell me how hard it is because I'm going to start playing it.
Thanks so its for two pianos is that right? I never knew.

Answer:

There is a 4 hand transcription here - http://erato.uvt.nl/files/imglnks/usimg/c/c9/IMSLP01048-Elgar-Op12-SalutDamour_PianoFourHands_.pdf The Primo and Secondo parts are on separate pages, which explains why the treble and bass parts are separated - one part for each pianist. It's not difficult to play.
